A POLICE officer has been stabbed twice in the kidney and his attacker shot dead in a fatal incident at a pub in south Sydney.
Emergency crews responded to the incident at the Maroubra Junction Hotel and police have blocked the street.
Patron and staff at the Maroubra Junction Hotel and surrounding business have been asked to evacuate the area.
An ambulance spokeswoman said one person has been stabbed multiple times and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Emergency services received the call for help around 3.10pm.
The injured police officer is believed to be a 50-year-old man.
There were initial reports that another person was stabbed in the neck.
A video has emerged on social media showing the large police taping off the street outside of the pub.
