A SEA of blue is set to sweep over Optus Stadium later this year, with July 23 set for English Premier League giant Chelsea FC’s friendly against Perth Glory.
The State Government will today announce tickets to the July match, which will be the first international soccer club appearance at the stadium, will go on sale on next Thursday, with prices starting from $49.
Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said the goal was to attract international visitors from countries with big EPL fan bases, including Singapore and Malaysia.
“This is a great opportunity for fans in those markets to visit Perth and see one of the most successful Premier League teams of the past fifteen years,” he said.
“It will show them Perth is vibrant, right on their doorstep and the Western gateway to Australia.
