Winter Olympics 2018: Japan’s Yuto Totsuka in brutal snowboarding halfpipe crash [GRAPHIC CLIP]

Screenshot from 2018-02-14 11-20-52.pngJAPAN’S Yuto Totsuka had to be taken off on a stretcher after a shocking landing during the men’s snowboarding halfpipe final at the Winter Olympics.

All of the Aussie attention was focused on local hope Scotty James, who earnt himself a bronze medal with a blistering opening run.
But the competition had to be paused after Totsuka hit the lip of the halfpipe and landed awkwardly before sliding to the bottom.

Paramedics attended to the snowboarder before he was carried off in a stretcher.

Totsuka had sat up by himself before being taken away.

Thankfully, early reports indicated the 16-year-old had avoided serious injury.
