Qantas has its Perth to London non-stop service on sale from just $1291 return as a fare war erupts on Europe flights from Australia.
The economy sale airfare is well below the normal lowest published fare of $1870 return.
At these fare levels, passengers have an interesting option to gain more space without having to buy premium economy seats, travel agents say.
“A couple can buy a set of three seats for around $3670 return to London at the special sale fare level,” Amity Travel’s Luke Chittock said.
Called an “extra seat” it cannot be booked online and passengers need to call a travel agent or Qantas.
According to Qantas, the taxes and charges normally applicable would not be charged for the extra seat apart from Australian GST.
That would save about $200, bringing the fare for three seats for two passengers to around $3670 based on the sale fare of $1291. However there is no additional baggage allowance for the “extra seat”.
The Qantas fare sale ends on March 27 and conditions apply.
