AFTER such a mild summer, a hot autumn night was a shock to the system for many people trying to get some shut-eye in Perth.
Tuesday morning’s minimum temperature dropped down to only 26C – and that was just at 6.10am.
For most of the night the mercury hovered in the high 20s.
The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed it was the warmest Perth night since March 2016, after yesterday’s maximum of 35.9C.
And there’s not much immediate relief on the way – Perth’s maximum today is expected to be 36C and becoming humid late this afternoon.
