Police have found guns, boxes of bullets and drug equipment buried in a Darling Downs property, as they investigate the suspected murder of Brisbane man Sam Price-Purcell.
This week, homicide detectives began their raid at the rural property at Leyburn, south of Toowoomba, with the help of forensic specialists and SES volunteers.
Two rifles and more than a dozen boxes of bullets were among the items hidden in an underground cavity.
Acting Detective Inspector Chris Knight said there were several suspects and police believed they were getting closer to catching those responsible for Mr Price-Purcell’s death.
“We’ve reached a point where we’re aiming towards an outcome. We don’t know when, of course, but we’re satisfied that we’re moving in a very positive direction,” he said.
