Sydney Tower Skywalk to remain closed while police investigate how woman jumped to her death

People stand on a glass platform high above the city, overlooking Sydney harbour.Sydney Tower Eye observation deck will reopen, but the Skywalk remains closed as investigations continue into the death of a woman who jumped from the 270-metre-high tourist attraction.

The woman, who it is understood was agitated and threatened to self-harm before the incident, landed on a canopy in front of traumatised witnesses.

Merlin Entertainment Group, which operates the attraction, said all guests who embarked on the Skywalk wore a jumpsuit and a “fall restraint belt” that could be loosened.

However they were provided with 15-minute pre-walk briefing and safety training and were required to sign a form declaring that they would not tamper with or remove the equipment while taking part in the walk.
