Commonwealth Games 2018: Hurdler Sally Pearson set to withdraw with injury… LATEST

Screenshot from 2018-04-05 09-02-16.pngHurdles champion Sally Pearson is set to announce she is out of her hometown Commonwealth Games, just hours after delivering the Queen’s baton to Peter Beattie in last night’s spectacular opening ceremony.

Pearson has called a press conference for 1pm Gold Coast time, 11am Perth time, alongside Australian Athletics head coach Craig Hilliard and athletics team doctor Paul Blackman.

The Olympic gold medallist and reigning world champion was one of the biggest stars coming into the games as she prepared to shoot for a third straight Commonwealth Games 100m hurdles gold medal.
