Just four-hundredths of a second separated the two 17-year-olds – Aussie Ariarne Titmus and Canadian Taylor Ruck. Credit has to go to Ruck, who built an early lead and held on.
Titmus claimed silver, while New South Welshman Emma McKeon earned bronze.
Hard to believe the two of the best female freestylers in the Commonwealth were born the year of the Sydney Olympics.
