Two teenagers have been arrested by police following a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a stolen car in Melbourne’s east in the early hours of the morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of Stud and Boronia Roads at Wantirna South shortly after 1:00am.
A married couple were driving home to The Basin through the intersection when the stolen car drove through a red light at high speed crashing into their car.
The 38-year-old man died at the scene and the woman, aged 32, died later in hospital.
Police said a 19-year-old Boronia man and a 15-year-old girl from Belgrave were receiving medical treatment and remained under police guard.
It’s not clear how they were injured.
