WA Police seize drugs, cash and property during two Pilbara operations, charges against 50 people

WA Police say they will continue to target drug syndicates in the Pilbara.WA Police have vowed to continue to “detect, disrupt and apprehend” drug syndicates in the Pilbara region after the success of two operations which hauled in drugs, more than $250,000 in cash and led to charges against 50 people.

The two campaigns, run concurrently in South and Port Hedland and Karratha since the start of the year, were largely focused on halting the transportation of drugs into the Pilbara.

South Hedland Detectives led Operation Goldenrod, utilising search warrants and vehicle stops to seize drugs, $223,000 in cash and property and assets worth about $41,500.

Police arrested 28 people and laid 462 charges.

At one premises, police allege they located half a kilogram of meth and $158,000 cash.

All the while Karratha Detectives were simultaneously running Operation Snowmobile.
