A court in the Philippines has reportedly found an Australian man guilty of raping and trafficking girls.
Local news outlets said Peter Gerard Scully was sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of one count of human trafficking and five counts of rape.

Scully was arrested in 2015 after allegedly sexually abusing several girls, including an 18-month-old infant.
He also allegedly strangled one of the girls, with her skeleton later discovered buried under a house he had rented.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was providing consular assistance to an Australian man detained in the Philippines.
