AFTER the final whistle blew on the Australia’s hard-fought 1-1 draw against Denmark in the World Cup last night, the sidewards glances of those in the stands said it all. Now what?With only one point to show after two games, was this curtains for the Socceroos in Russia? Was there still a way we could reach the next round?

The short answers are no – and most definitely, yes. But it’ll come right down to the final two group C fixtures – Australia v Peru and Denmark v France on Tuesday night.With France certain to qualify for the next round, there is one more group C spot up for grabs. Peru, who have failed to score any points from their first two games, are out of the mix.
