West Coast forward Liam Ryan was taken to Armadale Hospital by police this morning after crashing his car into a tree. The Eagles released a statement earlier today confirming the first-year player had been involved in a ‘police incident’ but said they had little information to go on.

WA Police later confirmed they had attended the Armadale crash just after 6am and taken a 21-year-old Lathlain man to hospital for a “health assessment”.The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated. It is understood Ryan has since been released from hospital and is with Eagles staff members. West Coast captain Shannon Hurn appeared at a press conference this afternoon and said he didn’t know much about the situation but believed Ryan to be physically unharmed.
