AN elderly couple from Maddington are suspected of being the sixth victim of sabotaged strawberries after discovering a needle buried in their fruit.

The couple say they discovered a sewing needle in a strawberry they had bought from a green grocer at Maddington Central Shopping Centre yesterday.

It was found in a Kimmy’s branded punnet, grown on a Gnangara farm.

The find has disgusted the grower My Doan, who says it can’t have happened on the farm.

β€œI feel very angry, and very upset because that’s not our fault, if we grow a strawberry, how is there a needle inside?” she told 7 News Perth.

The latest find comes after a young girl was hurt eating a strawberry at her Willeton school about 10.30 this morning.
