Firefighters rush to #Perth Airport for FIFO flight emergency More Here;

UPDATE: Emergency services rushed to Perth Airport after a plane carrying fly-in, fly-out workers was forced to turn back due to an engine shutdown on Tuesday morning.

The Cobham Aviation BAE146 flight to Barrow Island took off just before 6am.

Barrow Island maintenance worker Marcus Richards said not long in to the flight the pilot made an announcement the plane was having engine troubles and would be heading back to Perth.

He said the passengers remained calm and the plane landed as normal.
