A man who murdered his former wife, stuffed her body into a suitcase and dumped the remains in the Swan River has been sentenced to life behind bars with a minimum of 20 years.
Ah Ping Ban, 69, killed his former wife Annabelle Chen in her Mosman Park home after he flew to Perth from Singapore on June 30, 2016.
Two fishermen found Ms Chen’s body in a suitcase that was floating in the Swan River two days later.
Ban, 67, denied murdering Ms Chen but was convicted of the charge after a three-week trial earlier this year.
His daughter, 27-year-old Tiffany Yiting Wan, was acquitted of murder and found guilty of the lesser charge of being an accessory after the fact.
She was jailed for four years and 10 months today, and with time already served could be released on parole in July next year.
