Two fights in separate houses in Perth’s suburbs in the two days after Christmas Day have resulted in two men being charged with murder by police.
A 39-year-old man who was being questioned overnight has been charged with murdering a 68-year-old man, who died in hospital after a fight in a Duncraig house on Boxing Day.
Emergency services were called to the home on Davallia Road about 10:00pm and found the victim seriously injured.
He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but died a short time later.
The 39-year-old, who was known to the victim but not related, was arrested inside the house after what witnesses described as chaotic scenes of dozens of police running in and out of the property.
He was questioned throughout yesterday and was charged overnight with murder.
Neighbours described the 39-year-old as a lodger at the home in which the dead man, who was well known in the area, had lived in for more than 20 years.
